A very limited number of hardship rate arrangements are available. These must meet specific criteria, be discussed and approved prior to appointment, and are subject to availability.
Hardship rates may be available to clients who are:
- in genuine need of psychological support
- suffering genuine and significant financial hardship (i.e. unemployed or pensioner status).
Hardship rates are a reduced fee arrangement applicable during the time of significant hardship. This means that there is still some (reduced) out of pocket expense for each appointment, even with a Medicare referral. It also means that when the hardship passes – normal fees will be reinstated.
