Amanda Hansen is a registered psychologist who is passionate about helping people explore difficulties and enact positive change. She approaches therapy from a position of warmth, empathy, and collaboration. Amanda gained her initial registration in 2007 and feels privileged to share in people’s journey of self-awareness and healing.
Amanda’s initial experiences were in therapy for survivors of relationship abuse and assisting individuals with mental health barriers to employment re-enter the workforce. For the last 8 years, Amanda has been working in a clinical private practice setting assisting individuals overcome trauma and emotional suffering.
In addition to individual therapy, Amanda provides relationship therapy to couples looking to improve intimacy and connection within their relationship. As a result of Amanda’s training and experience working with trauma, she is particularly interested in assisting couples to overcome relationship difficulties relating to attachment difficulties, childhood trauma, and symptoms of dissociation.
Amanda’s approach is trauma-informed and draws on Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), therapies for Structural Dissociation, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Amanda is a board-approved supervisor and is able to provide supervision to provisional Psychologists undertaking the 4 +2 pathway.
